Nollywood Actress Nimmy Ferrari Dies Days Before Housewarming, Gets Buried in Her New Home

Nollywood actress and content creator Nimmy Ferrari has died at the age of 26, just days before she was scheduled to celebrate the completion of her newly built home in Sagamu, Ogun State.

The actress died shortly before she was expected to celebrate the completion of her newly built home and was later buried at the same property she had planned to officially open.

News of her death was first shared by her colleague and actress, Oluwakemisola Apesin, popularly known as Kemity, in an emotional Instagram post on Sunday night.

“Everybody is back home; we left only you, IDERA Nimmyferrari. It is well,” Kemity wrote.

Her immediate younger sister later confirmed the death, bringing an end to the uncertainty that followed the initial announcement on social media.

There have been unconfirmed reports online linking Ferrari’s death to complications from fibroid surgery. However, her family has not revealed the cause of her death publicly, and there is no official statement confirming that the actress underwent the surgery or suffered complications from it.

The timing of her death has made the news particularly painful. Ferrari had reportedly spent years building her home in Sagamu and was already making preparations for a housewarming celebration when she died.

Videos circulating online showed mourners gathered at the property as preparations were made for her burial. The same compound where she had planned to welcome her friends, family and colleagues ultimately became the location of her final burial.

Ferrari, whose real name was Adesanya Nimota Omotolani, was a rising actress in the Yoruba Nollywood industry. She featured in movies including World Famous, Olowosile, Omo Agba, Iran Keta, Awari Ogo and Orisa Para.

Beyond acting, she also operated Nimmy Ferrari Productions and was active as a content creator on social media and YouTube.

Her death has also come at a difficult time for the Nollywood community. Ferrari had recently paid tribute to veteran actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, following his death on August 24. Her own passing only days later has left colleagues dealing with another sudden loss.

Following the news, some people online have also raised concerns about reproductive health risks affecting young Nigerian women, particularly regarding fibroid surgeries. However, no further official details about the circumstances surrounding Ferrari’s death have been released by her family.

At the time of this report, the exact cause of Nimmy Ferrari’s death remains undisclosed.
