Ugwu Nnenna Theresa, also known as Ugwu Tessy, has shared a bank transfer receipt showing that she personally returned the bride price paid by her estranged husband, Ejike Tobias Ugwuoke.
She made the transfer on September 9, 2026, about six years after they got married. Reports say the bride price was ₦30,000.

Tessy said her former husband paid the bride price on January 2, 2020.
According to her account, her parents, Umunna and others had tried to return the money to him after the marriage ended, but he allegedly refused to accept it from them.
She decided to return it herself.
The transaction narration showed her name and identified her as the ex-wife of Ejike Tobias Ugwuoke. She also wrote that she had “Single-HANDEDLY” returned the bride price herself.

Tessy is now 23 and has said she got married in 2020, meaning she was about 17 at the time.
She also said she had three children during the marriage.
