Africa Youth Conference 2025: Empowering Stars for Sustainable Innovation

The Africa Youth Conference (AYC) is a premier annual event that unites youth leaders, policymakers, and key development stakeholders from the West African sub-region.

This year’s conference will be hosted by UNESCO and held at the United Nations House in Abuja.

The event provides a dynamic forum for in-depth discussions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a particular emphasis on devising actionable solutions and strategies to overcome the challenges faced by young people across the continent.

Now in its fourth edition, the Africa Youth Conference will take place on June 17th and 18th, 2025, centered around the theme: “We Are Stars: Thriving in a World of Limitless Opportunities.”

As highlighted by the conference convener, Nwokorie David, the focus this year is on SDG 9, which aims to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

By spotlighting these crucial areas, AYC 4.0 seeks to demonstrate how youth-led initiatives can play a transformative role in addressing some of Africa’s most urgent challenges—including poverty, unemployment, economic inequality, illiteracy, and disease.

The 2025 edition is presented in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Innovation Science and Technology, the Ministry of Youth Development, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Center—further amplifying the conference’s impact and reach.
