Nigeria Fashion Week is the country's inaugural fashion week. It has been highlighting the creativity and inventiveness of Nigerian fashion designers since 2002. The Nigeria Fashion Week event date is November 24th - 26th, 2022.
Nigeria Fashion Week is the country's largest fashion event, the event brings together major players in the Nigerian fashion and beauty industry to meet with top government functionaries, captains of industry, celebrities, and the diplomatic and expatriate community, with the goal of facilitating trade in the African fashion industry.
The Nigeria Fashion Week, founded in 1996 by Legendary Gold Limited, Africa's creative and fashion promoting behemoth, opened the floodgates of fashion not only in Nigeria but throughout Africa. Events planned for this year's event with the theme "Going Green 5" include daily fashion displays with over 70 of Nigeria's brightest and greatest designers spread across three days, as well as over 30 international designers.
There will be three shows per day at 12 p.m., 3 p.m., and 6 p.m. Each show will include a different collection of designers. There will be a total of nine shows throughout the Nigeria Fashion Week (NFW)
Other segments of the pioneer fashion event include a hair show, exhibitions, empowerment of women through the Women In Fashion Enterprise (W.I.F.E.) project, Fashion Generation Next initiative (students from various fashion schools will compete to present a collection), and a fashion business conference, where the Nigeria Fashion Entrepreneur forum is expected to serve as an interface between government, financial institutions, and the fashion industry. Top government ministries and parastatals, financial institutions, and corporate entities will be in attendance.
